Here it is at last!

I have finally launched the Nature Niagara Blog!  I will be posting regularly on a subject I am passionate about - the Niagara Peninsula, and it's beautiful parks, greenspaces and conservation areas.  This is not an activist kind of blog, but it is just what you will want to read if you are living or visiting here.  I'll have information of walks and trails, parks, birding, wildlife, and everything Nature Niagara!

Today was gorgeous, the kind of Autumn day that everybody hopes for.  It was sunny and warm, the foliage on the Escarpment was colourful and the fallen leaves underfoot made that delightful crunchy sound and I walked along the brink, exploring the area and looking for photo-worthy shots.

I came across a great little shop on the Niagara Parkway.  Kroft's is on the corner of the parkway and EastWest Line.  They have a very nice selection of fresh farm goods and preserves from their orchard, but what I loved was the little park area behind the store.  There was a arching span bridge over a pond, stone walls here and there, and a great variety of shrubs and trees, from stately maples dressed in bright yellow to bright red sumacs, and bullrushes standing with their feet in the water.  The water reflected the bright blue sky, and the breeze rustled in the almost-bare trees.  What a beautiful spot!

I will be spending more time exploring the Niagara Parkway, including the Floral Clock and the Botanical Gardens.  Come and join me as I explore the Niagara Peninsula!
